Hello all.

If you are new here, welcome. And if returning, also welcome :)

I take a deep breath today, to hold steady. Yesterday, the cascade of all that news and all that fear. I’ve been thinking about what it takes to acknowledge and bear witness, while at the same time listening into the deeper dream, and still hold true to our callings; if even such a thing.

In the Celtic cycle we are still in dreamtime, reaching out to the Spring of stirrings and awakenings. It is a time of furtive underworld expositions, of root systems establishing themselves, while above ground, the darkness still hangs long. It is a time where we are invited into listening and given permission still to dream. Like so much of indigenous ways of knowing around the world, the place in the cycle holds potency for the times we find ourselves in, and pathways onwards too.

In my post today for members of The Wild Edge, I am sharing some of my own ways of dreaming and listening during this time, and how I am learning to shift from reactionary responses to politics and all the rage, to more restorative. It is about how I am listening and dreaming to find my focus when I feel astray, aided by a design tool called ‘reframing’, and by the robins, hawthorn and a band of beautifully low hanging cloud. As ever, I hope this is nourishing and useful to you.

Coming up this week

Also coming up on The Wild Edge this week is my regular creative 5 minute retreat, and on Thursday, there will be some more ‘Owl Hours’, where you can show up with your own creative project/ practice and with in the intentional company of others to help make progress and focus. It’s 7-8pm in Ireland at the time, but all time zones welcome- our owls are remarkably flexible!)

Imbloc Guide and Salon

Next week, in preparation for Imbolc, the Celtic season of early spring, I will be sharing a guide and some reflective questions, and then on 31st January, I am hosting a special Imbolc Salon, with poetry, journaling and seasonal ritual. Tickets are included in Gold Membership of The Wild Edge, or you can independently get a ticket here.

Watch out too for a guest post on the wonderful Beauty and Bone, Layla O’Mara’s publication, where I will be writing about the power of ebb in creative cycles, and the role of the outgoing tides- internally as well as externally.

Membership of the Wild Edge is €8 a month/ €80 a year, which works out as €1.53 per week (annual) or €1.85 per week (monthly membership, spread over the year). Along with additional, exclusive writing, your paid membership includes a writing sanctuary or a poetry salon every month, and access to regular Owl Hours. All design, illustration and photography are also my own- my little labour of love, landing in your inbox each week.

And now over to the post: Permission, Still, to Dream … (audio version also included)
