Hello all,

Welcome to another edition of ‘Field Notes’. This is where I share some behind the scenes of work in progress, of the messy bits, the still unfinished, the inner workings from the field of creative practice. It’s not about sharing a particular tool, or resource. It’s really just waving from the front lines of what is a very messy and non-linear wild edge of creation, saying ‘here I am, still trying to figure all this out. How about you?’

Today, I am popping my head up from a self-led nine day writing retreat, taking about how I carve and protect the time to do them, the new project I am working on, and some tools I use for actually getting on with the work, rather then just thinking about getting on with the work!

Before we get there though, a reminder of the upcoming Lúnasa Salon, the next seasonal salon in the Celtic Wheel. I will also be back next week with some Lúnasa reflections and the guidebook.

Thank you, and hope you find these field notes useful for your own creative ponderings and practice.

Clare.

Field Notes: July 2026

I’ve always loved reading about other people’s writing routines and habits, not to replicate but to be inspired. From where they write, to how they set up their day, holds an intrigue. So, in that spirit, here is a doorway into mine…
